After studying violin (class of Gérard Poulet) and chamber music (class of Daria Hovora) at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, she was unanimously awarded the DNSPM with honours. Patronage grants were awarded to her, enabling her to study at the Eastern Music Festival (Greensboro, USA), at the Banff Center for The Arts (Canada) with Franco Gulli, Lorand Fenyves (a disciple of Zoltan Szlekely), Menahem Pressler, Ivry Gitlis: encounters off the beaten track with exceptional artists and teachers.

Through creation, performing arts and contemporary music, his artistic path is eclectic, based on the alternation of genres and aesthetics, often creating bridges between the arts and the world of music.

Catherine Jacquet is soloist of the Ars Nova ensemble, regularly invited by the most prestigious French contemporary music ensembles: the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the 2e2M ensemble, Court-Circuit, l’Itinéraire.
She is also a member of the Orchestre Les Siècles (François-Xavier Roth), and has a keen interest in the repertoire on period instruments. She also collaborates with the Chambre Philharmonique, the DresdnerFestspielorchester, as well as with many musicians specialising in early music.
She also plays under the direction of Pierre Boulez, David Robertson, Kent Nagano, Colin Davis, Jonathan Nott, Suzanna Malki, François-Xavier Roth, Matthias Pintscher, Emmanuel Krivine, Pablo-Heras Cassado,…

She performs as soloist, chamber music and orchestra in the most important European festivals: Lucerne Festival, London Prom’s, Granada Festival, Festival Présences, Festival Musica, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Montreux Festival, Gstaad Festival,… , in prestigious European venues (ElbPhilharmonie de Hambourg, Philharmonie de Paris, Conzertgebouw d’Amsterdam, Theater an der Wien, BoulezSaal Berlin, Köln Philharmonie,…), but also in the United States, South America, Asia and Africa. Pedagogy and transmission are an essential part of his artistic activity; this translates into a permanent quest and curiosity for a humanistic vision of teaching as well as the search for new pedagogies in line with our times.
